These are new updates to Vonage Video API platform:
- DVR functionality available for HTTP live streaming (HLS) broadcasts. With the DVR option set, you can use time-shift functionality (rewind, pause, and resume) for HLS broadcasts (in players that support DVR). For details, see Enabling DVR functionality in HLS broadcasts.
-
Low-latency HTTP live streaming (HLS) broadcasts. Set the
lowLatencyoption to broadcast and HLS broadcast in low-latency. For details, see Low-latency HLS broadcasts. - Callback event for SIP call being forced to mute. There is a new callback event for monitoring when a SIP call is muted as a result of a moderator event. For details, see the Monitoring call progress section of the OpenTok SIP Interconnect developer guide.
- Improved performance for screen-sharing streams. We have improved the rate control algorithms on all streams with a focus on screen share-sharing content, especially in transition between static and dynamic content. This includes bandwidth estimation improvements, improved ramp-up time, and quicker responsiveness to changes (which improves video clarity).
